Committee purpose statement:
This committee shall work closely with the legislative committee/legislative liaison including preparing position statements that have Executive Board or Presidential approval.

Committee action statement:
This Committee shall focus on issues germane to juvenile justice. 

Goals:      

  • Promote representation on the committee that broadly represents Minnesota’s Juvenile Justice Professionals.
  • Expand participation in and knowledge of statewide initiatives that pertain to juvenile justice and keep the Board apprised of these issues.
  • Remain current about juvenile justice issues and provide information needed to support excellence in practice and address correctional leadership in the field.  
  • Work closely with legislative committee on pending legislative action as it relates to juvenile justice and respond with position statements (with Board approval) when necessary.
