Spotlight Presentation by Saint Mary's University of Minnesota

Our Presenter Don Winger will provide information on Saint Mary's Criminal Justice Leadership Program and other programs of study at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota

Presenter Bios: Don Winger currently works at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. He has been in the position since 2002. Don holds the rank of associate professor and has served as a program director in undergraduate and graduate programs. Don also was the Dean of the School of Professional Programs and as the Dean of Security for the Twin Cities Campus.

Don was a police officer for the City of Saint Paul from 1972 through 1998; he served as a sergeant, lieutenant, captain and senior commander. Don then became the Chief of Police for the City of Maplewood between 1998 and 2002.

Don earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Anoka Ramsey Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, and a Master of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Saint Thomas. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Workshop Description:

Sex Trafficking 101- provides information regarding sex trafficking / sexual exploitation, a foundational understanding of perpetrator and victimology.

Presenter Bio:  Lori Quist - Lori Quist is a second year Ph.D. student studying Social and Criminal Justice. Lori has completed her Master of Arts degree from Hazelden Graduate School in Addiction Studies and her undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s University in Police Science. Lori has a diverse background in positions that have supported clients of addiction, incarcerated men and women, victims/survivors of Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Assault and Sex Trafficking. Lori is the Executive Director at Breaking Free, St. Paul which works to end sexual exploitation in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Lori spends her free time with her family in Northeast Minnesota, she enjoys traveling, photography, and Minnesota sports.
