Presenter Bio:

Chris Doege:  Chris Doege, a US Navy Veteran, joined the Amicus services of Volunteers of America Minnesota after a 13-year career in the US Post Service. Chris started as volunteer at Amicus in 2007 and in 2008, was offered the position of Program Coordinator for Minnesota Circles of Support and Accountability (MNCoSA). MNCoSA was a partnership between Amicus and the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) that provided community support to Level 2 sex offenders both pre and post release. In 2009, Chris moved from MNCoSA to Program Manager of Amicus’ flagship program, One to One. This 55-year-old program matches trained volunteers with individual offenders for long-term visits, correspondence, and friendship.

Chris was promoted to Manager of Adult Reentry at Amicus overseeing all adult programs for the agency in 2013 and was recently named Senior Director of Community Justice, overseeing Amicus as well as VOA-MN’s two Residential Reentry Centers (RRC) in Roseville and South Minneapolis. People under the control of the Federal Bureau of Prisons as well as the MN Department of Corrections and Federal Probation are sent to the RRC’s as a transitional point between incarceration and release into society, providing them with a stable place to live while they line up daily essentials for reentry success such as jobs and housing
