The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) received a federal grant from the Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime to improve outcomes for children and youth who are victims of human trafficking by integrating human trafficking awareness, policy and programming at the state and Tribal government levels.

In essence, the MDH will strengthen the existing infrastructure of Safe Harbor (services for sexually exploited youth) in addition to expanding awareness, services and programming to labor trafficking victims 24 and younger.

One way to improve outcomes is to provide statewide training on human trafficking.  MDH in partnership with The Advocates for Human Rights will provide a 3 hour training on human trafficking, both labor and sex trafficking for MCA members.

Presenters:
Madeline Lohman, Senior Researcher, The Advocates for Human Rights
Paula Schaefer, Safe Harbor Training Coordinator, MDH

Date:      Friday, June 16, 2017

Time:       9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
